EDMONTON - The hearse carrying former Alberta premier Peter Lougheed's body is to pass by two landmarks that were special to him as it returns to Calgary.
The province says the motorcade will drive by Rutherford House and Knox-Metropolitan United Church, both in Edmonton .
Lougheed stayed at Rutherford House while he was attending the University of Alberta and he and his wife, Jeanne, were married at the church.
Lougheed has been lying in state at the Alberta legislature since Monday after his death in a Calgary hospital last week.
The province says 1,200 people came to pay their respects on the first day.
A public memorial is planned for Friday in Calgary.
